AuthCord vs VaultCord: Why Professionalism and Features Matter

If you run a Discord community and need member verification, server backups, or monetization tools, you have options. VaultCord and AuthCord both operate in this space, but they take very different approaches to building a product and running a business. Here is a factual comparison.

What each platform does

VaultCord is primarily a Discord member backup and verification tool. It backs up your server structure (roles, channels, settings) and stores OAuth tokens so you can re-invite members if your server is compromised. It also offers basic member verification with alt detection.

AuthCord is a full Discord monetization and server management platform. It does everything VaultCord does (verification, backup, member recovery) plus payments, subscriptions, product licensing, file distribution, analytics, webhooks, abuse detection, and more. It is a complete ecosystem, not just a backup tool.

VaultCord covers the basics: verification and backup. AuthCord covers the basics and gives you the tools to actually monetize and manage your community.

Pricing

VaultCord starts free with limited pulls and charges $3.99/month for premium features like faster pulling and IP viewing.

AuthCord also starts free. The paid tiers ($9.99, $19.99/month) unlock progressively more capacity and features, but the core platform (verification, backup, restore, member recovery, alt detection, abuse detection, entitlements) is available on every plan, including free.

For $3.99/month on VaultCord, you get a backup and verification tool. For $11.99/month on AuthCord, you get that plus payments, analytics, HWID protection, file distribution, coupons, referrals, webhooks, and more. The value per dollar is not close.

Trust and professionalism

When you choose a platform to manage your Discord community, you are trusting it with your members' OAuth tokens, server structure, and potentially payment data. The company behind the platform matters.

VaultCord's founder has a public track record of questionable business practices. The VaultCord website has hosted a page titled "RestoreCord Whistleblower Programme" which published the personal information of a competitor's founder, including their full name, phone number, date of birth, physical address, photographs, and email addresses, alongside cash bounties for obtaining more personal data. This is not a bug bounty program. It is doxxing monetized as a business strategy.

Publishing someone's personal information publicly, especially a European citizen's data, raises serious legal concerns under GDPR, which carries fines of up to 4% of annual turnover or €20 million. Beyond the legal issues, it reveals something about how the platform operator views competition: not as motivation to build better software, but as a target to harass.

VaultCord also operates a "member marketplace" where Discord members can be bought and sold, a practice that violates Discord's Terms of Service and raises ethical questions about how they treat the communities they claim to protect.

AuthCord does not engage in any of this. We compete by building better software, providing better documentation, and offering better support. Our focus is on your community, not on tearing down competitors.

Data handling

VaultCord's premium users can view member IP addresses by default (opt-out, not opt-in). They also offer the ability to view members' emails, private profile connections, and all Discord servers a member is in. This level of data collection is aggressive for a verification tool.

AuthCord takes a privacy-first approach. IP addresses are hashed (SHA-256 with per-app salting) for alt detection. We never store raw IPs in a way that can be browsed. OAuth tokens are encrypted with AES-256-GCM. Data collection is configurable per app: server owners choose exactly which data points to collect, and nothing is exposed by default.

Why server owners switch to AuthCord

  • ✓One platform instead of five. Instead of VaultCord for backup + a separate payment bot + a separate licensing system + a separate analytics tool, AuthCord handles all of it.
  • ✓Monetize directly through Discord. Slash commands for purchasing, automatic role assignment, subscription management. Your members never leave Discord.
  • ✓Real security features. Automated abuse detection with severity levels, HWID binding, device session tracking, and brute force prevention, not just alt detection.
  • ✓Professional platform you can trust. No doxxing pages, no member marketplaces, no drama. Just software that works.
